In the past, the TSA organized and hosted an annual poster competition exploring a theme relating to architecture and design. The aim of the competition was to raise awareness and to celebrate design. The jury was comprised of design professionals from various disciplines and included a representative from a partnering organization, with in-depth knowledge of the competition theme.
 
The competition was launched in Spring with winners announced in May at the Toronto the Good Party. Cash prizes were awarded to those entries selected for first, second, and third place. Competition finalists were included in an exhibit which travelled to various venues throughout the city as well as being featured on the TSA website.
